You memorialize Dennis Hopper

You memorialize Dennis Hopper

You meet your friends at One Eyed Jacks to memorialize Dennis Hopper. For some reason, it is extremely busy. On the stage, a rag-tag troop of high school kids with bluegrass instruments, a superficial appreciation of the band X, and little or no ability to play their instruments wave to their very dear friends. You take a seat with Biel, Casey, and Ellen. You discuss the passing of Dennis Hopper, the brilliance of Easy Rider, and how different Ghost Rider would have been if it had been Dennis Hopper instead of Peter Fonda, or Dennis Hopper instead of Nicolas Cage, or Dennis Hopper instead of Ghost Rider.

Finally, you concede that Dennis Hopper’s death was probably for the best, because in the end he turned out to be Hitler, like in that Twilight Zone. You tell Ellen she is hard to draw. Biel pays for your Coca-Cola like a real gentleman.

“Well, that’s it for me. I’m heading down to South Carolina for a few weeks,” you explain. Anxious to see Emily, you race home to pack your bags.
